Does Twisted Throttle offer a larger foot pad to go on the shortened side stand? I ahve seem some on the internet for the stock stand but none that would fit the round pad on the TT shortened stand.

I got this to replace my kickstand that bent, not because I needed a shorter one. Quality is on par with the stock one. Seems to be thin walled tubing like the stock so I would not say any sturdier. It is shorter and the bike kicks over more. I have the stock links on mine with an Eibach 550 spring.
The quality is a little subpage as when the bike is resting on the sidestand the foot on the bottom is not flat on the ground, it’s at an angle minimizing surface contact and providing less support. That coupled with the fact that the foot is considerably smaller than the stock stand increases concern on effectiveness for a bike meant to be ridden off trail. It worked ok on hardpacked sand as you can see in the picture I have it parked in, but if it were even slightly damp or on hot asphalt there would be issues.
The final issue is the for and ambiguity in title and description. I have a 2013. That’s not listed in the title. The last sentence in the description alludes to being able to make it fit, but is not clear as if being run through a translator.
Here is my experience, the stand CAN fit, but you will have to remove the inside layer of powdercoat. You can use a drill, but do not have to and I would not recommend it as it may remove more than necessary. I used a Dremel and sanding drum. The drum was too big to fit in the hole, so I pulled the sandpaper to the edge of the drum and compressed it, working it into the hole as it spun. It slid into the hole and just a second or two removed enough to allow clearance for the bolt. Hope this helps.

This stand work great… BUT, the stand area is too small, and the angle is not 0°, so buried very easily in almost any terrain, incluying hot asfalt!
You really need:
1. Correct the angle
2. Turn stand foot great

I had my new 2014 KLR650 lowered with Moose Racing dogbones when I picked it up at the dealership. Thing is I cheaped out on having them shorten the stock sidestand an the same time, big mistake. So I went ahead and ordered the Twisted Throttle shortened sidestand to remedy that oversight.
Some observations. First the hole for the pivot bolt really isn’t too small (at least on the 2014), it just had too much paint/powder coat in the hole. Clean the hole out with some sandpaper, apply some grease and you’re in business.
Secondly, the foot on this sidestand is way too small for use on a dual sport bike. It’s only 1 3/8″ in diameter. That is something less than 1/3 the surface area of the stock sidestand foot. Without using a foot pad or modifying the foot, this would be for too risky to use on anything but solid pavement.
If the foot had a larger surface area, this would be the exact solution for KLRs that have been lowered.

I would of have it a 5 star rating, but I had to make the hole for the main bolt a little bit bigger. The stock hardware is a hair bigger then the hole on the short kickstand. Once I drilled it a bit bigger it worked great.
